القوات السورية الموالية للرئيس بشار الأسد ترتكب جرائم حرب من خلال تجويع السكان المدنيين عن سبق الإصرار والترصد في مخيم للاجئين الفلسطينيين وذلك خلال الحرب الدامية المستمرة منذ ثلاثة أعوام ضد الانتفاضة المسلحة, وفقا لما ذكرته مجموعة تعمل في مجال حقوق الإنسان.
كما اتهمت منظمة العفو الدولية قوات الأمن باستهداف الأطباء وطاقم الممرضين, وفي نفس الوقت اتهمت مجموعات المتمردين بالاستيلاء على معدات طبية في مخيم اليرموك, في الجانب الجنوبي من العاصمة السورية دمشق.
التقرير الذي جاء في 40 صفحة, يلخص الحياة في مخيم اليرموك: جرائم حرب ضد المدنيين المحاصرين وصور مؤلمة ومروعة للحياة داخل المخيم الذي تبقى من سكانه ما يقرب من 17000 إلى 20000 شخص بعد أن كان عددهم يصل إلى 180000 شخص فلسطيني ومئات الآلاف من السوريين قبل الصراع.
في المجموع, فإن ثلثي اللاجئين الفلسطينيين – الذين كان عدهم حوالي 530000 نسمة قبل الحرب الأهلية – نزحوا, وهناك عشرات الآلاف تفرقوا في دول أخرى.
من بين 200 حالة وفاة سجلت نهاية يوليو الثاني والشهر الماضي, فإن 128 منهم ماتوا من الجوع, وفقا لما ذكره تقرير منظمة العفو الدولية, وذلك بعد أن اشتد الحصار على المخيم وقطعت إمدادات الطعام والدواء تماما عنه.
مع وجود ما يقرب من 60% من عدد السكان يعانون من سوء التغذية, أفاد سكان محليون بأنهم لم يأكلوا الفواكه أو الخضار منذ شهور طويلة. ثمن الكيلو الواحد من الخبز أصبح يصل إلى 60 جنيه استرليني.
واضطر العديد منهم إلى تناول أوراق الشجر والأعشاب الضارة, بينما تم استهداف الآخرين من قبل القناصة فيما كانوا يحاولون جلب الطعام.
البعض يعاني من حساسية شديدة مثل الشعور بالنفخة بعد تناول نبتة تعرف باسم رجل العصفور التي عادة ما تأكلها الماشية وغيرها. كما ظهرت مضاعفات طبية أخرى نتيجة تناول السكان اليائسين لجثث القطط والكلاب النافقة.
وقد تعرض ما لا يقل عن 12 من العاملين في المجال الطبي إلى الاعتقال خلال الحصار, ستة منهم في عداد المفقودين. كما وردت تقارير عن مقتل أحد الأطباء نتيجة للتعذيب في المعتقل.
جماعات المعارضة المسلحة قامت بالاستيلاء على سيارات الإسعاف ومعدات طبية من المستشفيات المحلية, وفقا للتقرير.
في خضم الأزمة الصحية الناتجة, ماتت عدة نساء لدى ولادتهن و ما لا يقل عن 18 طفلا بينهم العديد من الرضع.
يقول فيليب لوثر, مدير الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا في منظمة العفو الدولية إن قطع إمدادات الطعام واستهداف العاملين في المجال الطبي الذين يحاولون تقديم العون الطبي للسكان المحاصرين امور تصل إلى حد جرائم الحرب . ودعا تحويل المشتبه بهم إلى محكمة الجنايات الدولية.
وأضاف :" القوات السورية ترتكب جرائم حرب من خلال استخدام تجويع المدنيين كسلاح في الحرب. استهداف الأطباء والعاملين في المجال الطبي الذين يحاولون تقديم المساعدات للمرضى هو جريمة حرب. الحياة في مخيم اليرموك أصبحت لا تطاق بالنسبة للمدنيين اليائسين الذين وجدوا أنفسهم يعانون من الجوع ووجدوا أنفسهم عالقين في دوامة من المعاناة دون أن يكون لديهم أي وسيلة للنجاة".

Syrian forces 'committing war crimes by starving Palestinian camp'

Syrian forces loyal to President Bashar Assad have committed war crimes by deliberately starving civilian inhabitants of a Palestinian refugee camp during their bloody three-year war against an armed uprising, a leading human rights group says.
Amnesty International also accuses security forces of targeting doctors and medics, while at the same charging rebel groups of looting vital medical equipment in the sprawling Yarmouk camp, in the south-side of Damascus, the Syrian capital.
The 40-page report, Squeezing The Life Out of Yarmouk: War Crimes Against Besieged Civilians, paints a harrowing picture of life inside a camp whose population has plunged to between just 17,000 and 20,000 after having been home to180,000 Palestinians and several hundred thousand Syrians before the conflict.
In total, two-thirds of Syria's Palestinian refugees - who numbered 530,000 before the country's civil war - have been displaced, with tens of thousands being dispersed to other countries.
Of 200 deaths highlighted between last July and last month, 128 died of starvation, Amnesty's report asserts, after an existing siege of the camp was intensified to completely cut off food and medical supplies.
With 60 per cent of the population suffering from malnutrition, residents reported not having eaten fruit or vegetables for months. The price of one kilogram (2.2 ibs) of rice has soared to £60.
Many have been reduced to eating leaves and weeds, while others have been targeted by snipers as they foraged for food.
Some have suffered severe allergic reactions such as bloating after eating a plant knows as bird's foot trefoil that is usually consumed by cattle and other livestock. Other medical complications have arisen for desperate residents reduced to eating carcasses of cats and dogs.
At least 12 medical workers have been arrested during the siege, six of whom remain unaccounted for. One doctor reportedly died after being tortured in detention.
Armed opposition groups have stolen ambulances and looted equipment from local hospitals, according to the report.
Amid the resulting health crisis, women have died in child birth and at least 18 children - including several babies - have lost their lives.
Philip Luther, Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa director, said cutting off food supplies and targeting health professionals trying to render medical treatment to a beleaguered population amounted to war crimes and called for suspected perpetrators to be referred to the International Criminal Court.
"Syrian forces are committing war crimes by using starvation of civilians as a weapon of war," he said. "Targeting doctors or medical workers who are trying to assist the sick and wounded is a war crime.
"Life in Yarmouk has grown increasingly unbearable for desperate civilians who find themselves starving and trapped in a downward cycle of suffering with no means of escape."
