A statement from Muslim Brotherhood movement in Syria

about the prohibition of constructing minarets in Switzerland

In order not to let the precedent turn into a policy... It is the turn of the wise people

To the wise people of the world, its intellectuals, and its opinion and authority leaders…

 The result of the Swiss referendum on the Islamic minarets came as a setback in the course of civilization and humanitarian development and a clear-cut apostasy to the gains of pluralism, participatory, co-existence, and religious freedom that humanity has achieved on its long path of civilization.

Civilization and civilization: Ibn Kayem Al-Jawziya, mercy of almighty Allah upon him, in his book (Sharh Al Shroot Al Omeria= Explanation of Omer conditions), in the first chapter, which is about the rules of temples and churches says: (Jewish synagogues and Christian churches, are to be defended by Muslim believers... and Allah likes defending them and their owners...) that is a legal base, upon which civilization facts has been based, its fruits are still witnesses to an advanced humanitarian status, that imposes itself on all the scholars of the development of religions and civilizations in the history of the world and man.

(Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Scripture stand for the right, they recite the Verses of Allah...) is another fact, that should be a base for dealing among the followers of religions, sects and denominations and doctrines, in every division there is always good people and bad people, that is a fact that should not be neglected, and not to deal with people, folks and religions far from it, because to do that means intolerance, racism and bigotry.. Which we have seen some of their results in the last referendum of the Swiss people.

To the wise people of the world, its intellectuals, and its opinion and authority leaders…We are not in a position just to express the pain, sorrow and condemnation of what happened, but we are in the course of alarming and warning of the danger of the spark, so as not to be the first in the course of apostasy of human civilization, and then have a combustion.

They claim that the Swiss people have used its democratic right... In this course we cannot face an attitude by another, because we believe that the existence of the human, its religion, opinion, honor and property... all those are not included in the framework of any democratic choice, of any people, at anytime and in anywhere!
 In our faith, civilization, and religious law, no majority, whoever it is, have the right to conspire to efface the existence of a minority, or to force them to a religion, belief, or opinion, or to violate their honor and money... It is a system of high values that should be kept away from the interactions of politics agents, and the manipulators human, and its divine honoring.

To the leaders of opinion, thought and command in the Arab and Muslim worlds. Many of our natives are trying, ignorantly, to hold our nation, by the acts of some of its individual and groups, the responsibility of the cultural apostasy that we have witnessed in the recent Swiss referendum!

We, in the Muslim Brotherhood Movement in Syria, with all our condemnation of the extreme behaviors, their holders are to be inquired not a certain religion or civilization nor a billion and a half billion of human beings... would explain that our nation - in return - do not hold the Christianity as a religion the responsibility of what (Bush) and (Blair) had gained to them, by their aggressive policies, and do not hold it the responsibility of (Berlusconi’s) extreme statements, and do not even hold it  the responsibility of the statements (the Pope) himself, when he instigated against Islam, and distorted its history by decomposed narrations, as did not hold Christianity the responsibility of the  incidents  of (Abu Ghraib) prison and (Guantanamo), and did not hold Christianity the responsibility of the advanced and developed media machine, which  works day and night on describing each individual and odd act as an Islamic act, and every backward behavior as an Islamic behavior. Indeed, we in the Muslim Brotherhood movement, refuse to describe the racial and closed-minded bigot choice of the Swiss People as Christian!

We will still adhere to our legal and cultural constants. And religious, intellectual, and ethnic pluralism, will still the basis of our civilization existence, by which we take pride, and our collective existence will stay as a dignified and humanitarian whole that colors, but does not integral part...

But that does not mean that our nation cannot act wisely, and makes the Swiss people alone pays the price of its bad choice.. An act drafted wisely and firmly by the leaders of the authority and thought, and men of money and business, to decisive the disease, and to bury the sedition at the cradle...
