UN launches largest appeal in its history to help Syria

Governments, private businesses, philanthropists and "anyone who wants to help" are being asked to contribute a total of $5.2 billion (£3.3bn), said Jens Laerke, spokesman for the UN's Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
