يزداد استغلال النساء حتى بعد مرور عدة سنوات على صراعهن لإثبات حماسهن في العمل و المنزل.

يبدو هذا مفارفة الآن، فالمرأة التي تكسب شركتها الكثير من النقود، لا تحصل على أجر مناسب.

ليس لدى المرأة ما تقوله اليوم حيال كونها مستغلة، فهي تلتزم الصمت حيال هذا الاستغلال. يحتاج مصطلح الاستغلال إلى تعريف، و هو يعني هنا الإساءة الجسدية أو الاعتداء الذي يلاحق المرأة دائماً في حياتها اليومية. إلا أن استغلال النساء اليوم مختلف و يصعب تخيله أحياناً،

حيث تستغل مؤهلات الهنديات و مكانتهن و طاقتهن،مع قبول بعضهن بهذا كجزء من خدمتهن للشركة.

سمعت مديراً يقول بأن المؤسسة تعمل بنجاح بسبب جهود النساء الموظفات، بينما كنت أرى سخط الموظفات اللواتي يرغبن في زيادة رواتبهن. كن يحصلن على رواتب أقل من باقي الموظفين في مختلف المؤسسات و في ذات الوظيفة، كما سمعت صدفة محادثة بين رب عمل و موظفين فهمت منه أن المؤسسة تربح عن طريق دفع رواتب أقل للموظفات.

لا أعرف ما إذا كانت هذه قصة خاصة بمؤسسة أو بجميع الأماكن، ألا أنني علمت أن استغلال النساء في ارتفاع حتى بعد مرور هذه السنوات من صراعها لإثبات حماسها في العمل و المنزل. يبدو هذا متناقضاً لأن المرأة التي لا تحصل على راتب مناسب تجلب في الواقع الكثير من النقود لشركتها. و هنا يثار سؤال حول من ينبغي إلقاء اللوم عليه، فهل نلوم المرأة التي تقبل براتب غير مناسب لعدة سنوات أم أولئك الذين يستغلون إخلاصها في المكتب و لا يرونه جهداً إضافياً منها في العمل.

بينما ترغب النساء المتعلمات في العيش بحرية، لكنهن مستعدات لقبول شيكات مالية متدنية، و هذا ينسحب على الممثلات أيضاً، فنجاح الفيلم يعني ارتفاع أجرهن في المستقبل إلا أنه سيبقى أقل عند مقارنته بالممثلين من الذكور. لقد قامت النساء بالعديد من العجائب في مختلف القطاعات كالعلوم و الفضاء و التعليم و الأدب .. إلخ. حيث يعترف بإنجازهن. فتتحدث هذه المرأة الناجحة بشكل مطول عن حريتها و وعيها و سلوكها الجريء. أؤمن بأن النساء سيجبرن على مواجهة هذه الظروف ، ما لم يكن مستعدات لرفع صوتهن ضد الظلم.

Still exploited

Women�s exploitation is on the rise even after those long years of tussle to prove her mettle at the work place and at home. Now this is ironical. A woman, who remains underpaid for her work, actually draws oodles of money to the company.

 ‘STILL EXPLOITED!’ Yes, this was my first inner reaction when I learnt that a woman of today is still exploited. The contemporary woman has no say on this. She remains silent on her open exploitation. The term exploitation needs clarification here. Here it means the physical abuse or assault that always haunted her daily life is passé or is less. What has taken the center stage in terms of women’s exploitation today is different and sometimes hard to imagine. Modern Indian woman’s educational qualification, her work, her calibre and her energy are being exploited today. Some would like such exploitation, as in that is how we contribute to the organization.

I was left with a million dollar question in my mind, when I heard a boss saying that the organization is functioning properly because of the efforts put in by the women employees. On the other hand, I witnessed dissatisfaction amongst the women employees who expected a rise in their incomes. They were being paid less than what others get in different organizations for the same work. I just happened to overhear the conversation between the boss and the employees and figured out this unusual thing. It means that an organization running in profit cheats its women employees by paying them less.

I am zapped whether this is an organization’s tale or an every place story. Nevertheless, what I learnt was women’s exploitation is on the rise even after those long years of tussle to prove her mettle at the work place and at home. Now this is ironical. A woman, who remains underpaid for her work, actually draws oodles of money to the company. This raises a question that who is to be blamed. A woman who let go years of work being underpaid or those who exploit her sincerity at office and do not regard them for the extra effort they put in the work.

As they want to experience liberty, these educated women are ready to work with cheques showing small amounts. This is not only true about office-goers but film actresses, as well.  Any hit movie would help them to raise the price tag but when compared would be less than the male actors. Definitely, women have done wonders in different and distinct fields of science, space, education, literature, etc. where they are recognized for their contribution. This successful woman speaks volumes about her liberty, awareness and daring attitude. I believe that women would be forced to face such circumstances until they are ready to raise their voice against it. Apart from that, organizations should remember that studies do not happen without expenses; be it a man’s education or a woman’s education.
