in Damascus, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported
Saturday. Haidar Smoudi was the ninth state-employed journalist killed by
"armed terrorist groups," the news agency
said. The Syrian government and its agencies commonly
refer to rebels seeking to overthrow President Bashar Assad
