سورية : مقتل أكثر من 80 في تفجيرات جامعة حلب

Both Bashar al-Assad’s government and rebels blamed each other for the blasts at the University of Aleppo that demolished the front of a six-storey building belonging to the architecture department. Mohammed Wahid Akkad, the governor of Aleppo, Syria’s most populous city, said at least 80 people were killed and 160 injured. Most of the dead were students. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed 52 dead after receiving reports from doctors and students, but said the death toll could rise beyond 90. It said there were at least 40 people were critically wounded.

Two explosions tore through one of Syria's biggest universities on the first day of student exams on Tuesday, killing at least 52 people and wounding dozens, a monitoring group said.Bloodshed has disrupted civilian life across Syria since a violent government crackdown in early 2011 on peaceful demonstrations for democratic reform turned the unrest into an armed insurgency bent on overthrowing President Bashar al-Assad.

Mohammed Wahid Akkad, the governor of Aleppo, Syria's second city, said there were 82 fatalities so far and more than 160 wounded "in a terrorist attack that targeted students on their first day of exams at the University of Aleppo." The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that at least 52 people had been killed in the blasts but said the figure could rise.
